We want to appeal to the deeper humanism and to the feeling of  fraternal communion between
the peoples to the earth and  from AU MA + Gom@ asks you to send letters with the words
STOP BOMBING YUGOSLAVIA / PEACE IN KOSOVO
on the enveloppe to all your mailartists friends in Yugoslavia, in Kosovo and in any another part
of the world, to all the dignitaries of the NATO and to the President of the USA.

We want to show our solidarity with Yugoslavian and Kosovar mail artist in particular and with the
Yugoslavian and Kosovar people in general. We only wish to contribute to avoid a bloodbath and to
call to the parts to solve the conflicts through pacific negotiation.
Obviously, by the special characteristics of this project, there are not any deadline until the airstrikes
will stop. There will not an exhibition neither documentation (althougth all the letters with the legend
STOP BOMBING YUGOSLAVIA received by the  members of AU MA + Gom@ will appear in the
report of this action). We appeal to your solidarity.

Difícilmente podamos detener la lluvia de muerte y destrucción que cae sobre el hogar de nuestros
amigos arte correístas yugoslavos, sean kosovares o serbios o montenegrinos o rubios o morochos.
Desde los comienzos de nuestro arte correo, allá hacia fines de los 60s., no hemos dejado de enviar
y recibir símbolos de paz y amor , pero la realidad nos devuelve a la tierra, al baño de sangre que no
ha cesado de correr desde entonces y desde mucho antes. No podemos hacer nada más que
reconfortar a nuestros amigos haciéndoles saber que no están solos después de todo. Que la única
batalla que podemos hacer por ellos es la lucha interna dentro de cada país por restablecer la
autoridad de los organizamos internacionales consensuales y, definitivamente, legislar para que los
conflictos se resuelvan por las vías pacíficas. Matar y destruir no son argumentos, son la expresión
más fría y calculada del poder. Su país puede ser el próximo en la lista, su familia puede estar ya
bajo las bombas, Ud. mismo se verá corriendo para guarecerse de ellas. Todos sabemos el valor de
una palabra dicha en el momento oportuno y qué resistencia y fuerza otorga a quien la escucha:

***  THE INFLUENCE OF THE POWER IN THE CULTURE & THE EDUCATION - AUMA+Gom@
March 10, in the School of Art and Design of the Diputación de Tarragona, the first exhibition of the
material received in answer to the call The influence of the power in the culture and the education
was opening. 926 works by 433 atists representing 30 countries were received. The exhibition will
remain open until march 31.
During the inauguration, the AUMA+GOm@ bulletin  (Urgent Action of Mail Art / Global Organization
of mail-artists) was launched. This bulletin relates the experience that provided the occasion to this
exhibition, in whose organization 10 people from 5 countries and two continents have participated.

After this exhibition, the works will travel to another cities where the exhibition will be hold. Until
now, the exhibition's tour includes Barcelona (Spain), Montevideo (Uruguay), Buenos Aires (Argentina),

AU MA + Gom@ wants to remember you than the call is still open for all those who can participate
in the next exhibitions of this project. If you didn't send your work, you are in time.

Pueblos indígenas que han sufrido genocidio y colonización, aún luchan contra la opresión y un afán
de reducir la vida y sus misterios a modelos abstractos y egoístas intereses económicos. Para que
nuestro futuro no sea el de pueblos nativos que ni siquiera existen hoy en nuestra memoria llamamos
a artistas, intelectuales y personas de buena fé a inaugurar el tercer milenio con una reflexión
consciente y participar en Cruces Del Mundo:
Homenaje A Los Pueblos Indígenas (por favor envía tu cruz)
Proponemos, pues, realizar  para el  año 2000 un cruce de obras de arte [en forma de una cruz]
en Santiago de Chile, que se desplegará sobre el suelo, dirigiéndose a los cuatro puntos cardinales,
mirando desde la tierra hacia el cielo. Las obras de arte son enviadas por correo, correo electrónico
o entregadas personalmente. Hasta el mes de octubre de 1998 se han recibido ya más de 1000
cruces en diferentes medios y técnicas. El resultado es una cruz de caracter plural e integrador,
que propone una vision más allá de la hegemonía cristiana: la descolonización de la cruz.
Es preciso destacar que todas las contribuciones artísticas son aceptadas en el espíritu libertario
del networking, es decir, no hay jurado de selección. No hay restricciones en cuanto a medio.

se realizara la Segunda Exhibicion de Estampillas de Artistas a realizarse en el Correo Argentino,
Sede Central. Tan pronto tenga esa respuesta, sera enviada las bases para esta nueva convocatoria,
conmemorando asi el Dia del Artista Correo en la Argentina.
 
On March 23 the Mail Artist's Day project was submitted to the Public Relations Department and
Philately Department of Correo Argentino. As soon as I receive a response to VORTICE ARGENTINA
proposal to put on the Second Artistamps Exhibition at the Head Quarters of Correo Argentino,
the bases for this new call will be sent, thus, celebrating the Mail Artist's Day in Argentina.

Touch 'n' go is an enhanced CD which includes the piece itself and text, sounds, Csound orchestras
and scores.
The piece will be diffused on an 8-channel computer-controlled system: DM8 by Chris Rolfe.
Paulo Ribeiro will be performing texts in English and Spanish from Martin Fierro, Borges' The Garden
of Forking Paths among others. The performance is directed by Ana Lucia Keller.

***  VIAJE A LA POLINESIA / VOYAGE TO POLYNESIA - PROPOST    (España)
VIAJE A LA POLINESIA (poesies+polpoesies per la fi de mil.lenni). Barcelona, 1997-2000 es una
programación estable de recitales de poesía que empezó en enero de 1997 y que durará hasta
el 2000. El ciclo se centra en las prespectivas tangenciales, periféricas y/o dinámicas de la poesía.
La programación está divida en volúmenes, con una durada de dos o tres meses, en los que, a través
de varios capítulos, se incluyen poetas que comparten una misma manera de hacer. Poetas llanos,
músicos, polipoetas, performers, terroristas... Queremos repasar todas las miradas que hoy en día
tienen los poetas de la poesía.
VIAJE A LA POLINESIA - VOLUMEN XIX: Audiopoéticas
16 y 17 de abril de 1999. Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona
Desde los futuristas y los dadaistas se ha intensificado mucho el trabajo fonético en la poesía.
No es un invento de este siglo, pero sí que lo son las denominaciones de poesía fonética, poesía
sonora y polipoesía. Y, aunque pudiera parecer un producto residual de las primeras vanguardias,
muchos han sido los poetas que han continuado trabajando en esta línea, tratando de buscar
nuevos sonidos, nuevas expresiones, nuevos medios y renovando la tradición poética oral. Tanto
la poesía fonética, como la poesía sonora y la polipoesía son disciplinas que investigan nuevas vías
trabajo en la poesía a partir del sonido y en muchos casos también a partir de la acción y del gesto.
La denominación Audiopoéticas engloba todas estas disciplinas que, además, trabajan con el ritmo,
las nuevas tecnologías y la imagen.
Viernes 16 de abril de 1999 a las 21h.   Capítulo I:
Valeri Scherstjanoi (Rusia); Julien Blaine (Francia); Xavier Sabater (Barcelona); Enzo Minarelli (Italia)
Sábado 17 de abril de 1999 a las 21h.   Capítulo II:
Bernard Heidsieck (Francia); Bartomeu Ferrando/Llorenç Barber (Valencia-Madrid);
Mark Sutherland (Canadá); Serge Pey (Francia)
Este volumen quiere presentar algunos de los poetas estrangeros que más han destacado en este
campo a la vez que también quiere reconocer el trabajo de algunos poetas fonéticos y polipoetas
españoles, en este caso Xavier Sabater y Bartomeu Ferrando y Llorenç Barber, dos terceras partes
de Flatus Vocis Trio. La selección es bastante heterogenia para así poder mostrar la gran diversidad
dentro de la práctica sonora de la poesía. En todo caso, todos ellos son referentes claves para
entender cómo está evolucionando la poesía a finales de milenio.
Enzo Minarelli, Xavier Sabater y Mark Sutherland representan la vertiente más tecnológica y más
cercana a los postulados de la polipoesía. Por otro lado,  Bernard Heidsieck y Valeri Scherstjanoi
se situan en un plano anterior.
El primero como impulsor de la poesía acción y de la poesía sonora desde los años 50 y el
segundo como recuperador de la técnicas de la poesía fonética de los futuristas rusos.
Julien Blaine y Serge Pey representan la cara más iconoclasta e inclasificable de la poesía
experimental. Bartomeu Ferrando y Llorenç Barber, que juntamente con Fátima Miranda forman
Flatus Vocis Trio, el grupo de poesía fonética español más reconocido en el mundo, son unos
referentes ineludibles para la poesía fonética en España.

Since January 1997, PROPOST (Untitled Poetic Projects) has been organising the VOYAGE TO
POLYNESIA (poetry+polypoetry for the end of the millennium). Barcelona 1997-2000 project, a fixed
programme of poetry readings which will go on until the year 2000. The peripheral, tangential and/or
dynamic aspects of poetry lie at the heart of the project, which is divided into separate volumes,
each one lasting two or three months.
The participants are poets who share a broad outlook. Some of them are poet-poets, musicians,
poly-poets, performance artists, terrorists, novelists etc. The name of the project comes from the
fact that few people are able to say exactly where Polynesia is. The idea of the readings is to take
the audience into poorly charted waters, to a little known place...
